ASTROLOGICAL LANGUAGE
Page 3
(continued from page 2 )

For interpreting aspects, if you can "see" aspects and distinguish between conjunctions, oppositions, etc., use the following key phrases. Be prepared to play a bit with the phrasing til your sentences make sense.

CONJUNCTIONS

You are trying to combine ________ and ________.

You are blending _________ and _________.

Within you, __________ and __________ are mixed.

The blanks (_______) represent keywords from the Adj./Adv./Life Area/Object (3rd column) on the previous page (Page 2).If appropriate, you can also use words or phrases from the Subject/Verb (1st column) to fill in the blanks. Remember, planets can represent other people as well as our own inner drives, e.g., the Sun can represent children, loved ones or a leader; Moon: mother, home, child, women; Venus: spouse, partner, women; Pluto: mate; Saturn: authority figures, father, boss; Mars: men (as well as you yourself).

For example, a Mars/Mercury conjunction might read as:

You are trying to combine self-expression and communication.

OR

You are blending your sense of self and siblings/relatives.

OR

Within you, actions and logic are mixed.

OR

Your sexual drive is mixed with variety (i.e., you seek variety). ETC.

SQUARES/SEMI-SQUARES/SESQUI-SQUARES

You may feel tension between _____ and ______.

You might experience an inner conflict between ______ and _____.

You are working to integrate ______ and _______.

For example, a Moon/Venus square might read as:

You may feel tension between your mother and a partner.

You might experience an inner conflict between emotional safety and how you make or spend money.

You are working to integrate your family (feelings) and sensual pleasures (and needs).

OPPOSITIONS AND QUINCUNXES

You may swing between ______ and ______.

_______ may seem to pull you away from _______.

_______ and _______ could feel at odds in your life.

For example, a Venus/Pluto opposition might read as:

You may swing between indulgence and self-control.

Your sweetness may seem to pull you away from emotional extremes.

Your personal possessions and joint resources could feel at odds in your life.

SEXTILES AND TRINES

You probably feel an ease flow between _____ and _____.

________ may reinforce or amplify ________.

A sense of inner harmony between _____ and _____ is likely.

*****

If you are not used to "seeing" aspects, you can order charts in the YAAC format and have the aspects written in words for you. Or, look at a horoscope, and assume that any planets which are within three degrees of each other have an aspect. (Degrees are the number which appears between the glyph for a planet and the glyph for a sign.) Whenever two planets make an aspect, use the "generic" form (listed above for conjunctions).
